Johnny Depp Doesn't Want an Oscar

Most actors dream of the day they get up on stage and accept an Oscar for being the best in the biz--but not Johnny Depp. Depp claims that he never wants to win an Oscar because he hates getting up in front of huge audiences.

The two-time Academy Award nominee says, "I don't want to get up in front of all these people and thank them. It scares the s***t out of me! The nomination was enough for me. I felt very honored. It's not really about the awards, though, it's about the work for me. I just love acting."

Depp is definitely one of the best actors in tinsel town; I'm actually surprised he's never won an Oscar. Who do you think has gotten shafted out of an Oscar win?

Aw! that is so cute. he gets all shy and nervous lol..i am really shocked he hasnt won an oscar yet because of all the movies and he is such a great actor and very different and just creates these timeless characters who are quircky like jack sparrow, edward scissorhands, and sweeney todd! hes awesome and cute :)

johnny has an oscar in all of our hearts, so he don´t need any, it wouldn't change anything. so why does he need one if he doesn't wont one. i don´t think he need one he is just beautiful anyway;)

MmMm he would've gotten 100 Oscars if it were up to me. He is THE best actor I've seen in a long time. He gets so absorbed in all of his roles, he consumes the characters and becomes the person he's portaying so well. I'm surprised he hasn't received an Oscar yet. He's just a great guy and a great actor. Hope he wins this year and I hope he doesn't get too nervous during his speech, lol.

Hermi, if you knew only a little thing about bodylanguage, you could have witnesses more than once, that there is not even a trace of a lie in what Depp says about being scared to speak in public, and not wanting an Oscar. BTW; I think the media have been warming up things Depp said earlier about Oscars, I woulds say from when he got nominated for his role in Finding Neverland. This may sound recent because they know how to present it that way, but it is not.

I would kinda feel sorry for him if he did get an oscar. I wouldn't want to stand up in front of all those people either. He definately does deserves to win one, i can't believe people haven't realised it yet.

Everyone talks about Brad Pitt, but Johnny can act rings around him. I don't always agree with Johnny's politics or ex-patriot rantings, but he is an excellent actor. He deserves an Oscar.

Yep, DiCaprio and Depp are definitely Oscar-worthy. And Viggo Mortensen should have been nominated in 2006 for his performance in A History of Violence. Maybe no-ego Viggo will get his due this time around for Eastern Promises.
