Suspects Detained In Travolta Extortion Plot

Two possible suspects have just been detained in connection with the John Travolta family extortion plot.

Bahamas Police Commissioner Raymond Gibson has said that a local politician and an ambulance driver are being held for their possible involvement in the case.

He declined to elaborate more than that, but told E! News, "We have two persons in custody assisting us in this matter.”

Senator Pleasant Bridgewater was taken into custody yesterday, while ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne was detained today. He also previously told the press he had attempted to revive Jett before he was pronounced dead on January 2nd.

A Bahamian news outlet also reports that someone may have taken a picture of Jett while he was in the ambulance.

There has been no comments made from the Travolta’s camp, but we’ll keep you up to date as details emerge on this terrible situation.

UPDATE: reports that Obie Wilchcombe, the former Minister of Tourism and member of the Bahamian Parliament, was one of three people arrested in connection with an alleged $20 million extortion plot against John Travolta.

Wilchcombe was a very close friend to the Travolta family and actually spoke about the investigation on Larry King's show.

Just yesterday, he told the media, "I thought it was a despicable act. One person should not destroy the character of the country."

It gets worse! Wilchcombe is a current member of Parliament. How despicable!
