On Tuesday, John Travolta’s first accuser John Doe #1 dismissed his lawsuit against Travolta. On Wednesday, he has a new lawyer.
John Travolta breathed a momentary sigh of relief but as quickly as you can say “massage my glutes” John Doe #1 has gone and retained Gloria Allred as his attorney.
Let me explain something about the infamous Gloria Allred. If you are seeking 15 minutes of fame, if you would like to become a celebrity, or accuse a real-life celebrity of sexual harassment, Gloria Allred is the woman to hire.
She’s represented Tiger Wood’s mistresses, she’s represented the women who sued David Boreanaz, Rob Lowe, and Anthony Weiner for sexual harassment. So clearly, suing celebs for alleged sexual related offenses is right up her alley.
Allred told RadarOnline.com, “I represent John Doe #1. Mr. Doe’s lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice, which means that he is still legally entitled to file another lawsuit against John Travolta if he chooses. We are in the process of conferring with him regarding the next steps, which he may wish to take. Out client and our firm has no further comment at this time.”
The reason why Doe #1 and his first attorney Okorie Okorocha parted ways was because Doe #1 alleged that Travolta sexually assaulted him on January 16, 2012, but Travolta’s lawyer had proof that the actor was in New York on that date and Doe #1 said his original date of Jan. 16 was a “miscalculation.”
I don't know how Gloira Allred is going to spin this but it should play out interestingly. Gloria Allred represented Rachel Uchitel in the Tiger Woods mistress scandal and Marty Singer (Travolta’s current lawyer) represented Tiger Woods in that case. Dun Dun Dunnnn!
