John Travolta Blames Meds For Shootings

June 19, 2007

What’s with Scientologists and prescription drugs? Anytime there is a problem they seem to blame psychiatric drugs.

No we are not talking about Tom Cruise, this time around we are talking about fellow Scientologist John Travolta who is blaming the Virginia Tech and Columbine shootings on psychiatric drugs.

"I still think that if you analyze most of the school shootings, it is not gun control. It is [psychotropic] drugs at the bottom of it," Travolta told W.

Although Tom and John share similar beliefs John insists that we won’t see him attacking Matt Lauer or jumping on any couches, "I don't disagree with anything Tom says. How would I have presented it? Maybe differently than how he did, but it doesn't matter."

I bet that the over emotional Tom is gonna get upset that John made that comment and it's gonna start a Scientology feud.

"What a genius. I am on Lithium and guess what, it keeps me from flying off into a rage and going off on a stupid motherfucker when he opens his mouth." D4, you are a living proof of the efficiency of these drugs. Calm, composed, polite and social, your intervention demonstrates your undeniable class and the sanity of your judgement...not. Sorry, but if you are taking that stuff for anger, you might want to get your money back. Pumping kids full of amphetamines-like substance is not rational, and it is foolish to believe it is without consequences. You can't medicate life.

John, John, John...give it up already. No one gives a damn what you and Tommy Cruise think.

Actually I have to agree with him on this one. If you look into every single one of the school shootings, PLUS the crazy stories of mothers killing their babies, etc. you will find all of them were on prescription drugs, antidepressants, etc. These drugs are overprescribed and when someone takes them for a long enough time and then STOPS taking them, they SNAP! and do something crazy. These drugs are very dangerous to come off on, and there are better alternatives rather than prescribing psychoactives.

JOHN TRAVOLTA IS AN ACTOR. the scientology brainwashing does not qualify an otherwise uneducated ACTOR to make intelligent commentary on current events. $cientology wrote the lines and the ACTOR, Travolta, reads them.

What a genius. I am on Lithium and guess what, it keeps me from flying off into a rage and going off on a stupid motherfucker when he opens his mouth. Medication saved my life. I wish dumb brainwashed actors would stick to pretending and not think they are medical professionals.

Cypress, your point about movies and TV is interesting. I wouldn't blame art for people's murderous actions, but maybe Travolta should think about how Pulp Fiction had lots of violence and portrayed two thug hitmen as urbane and likable ...

I thought that Virginia Tech guy WASN'T taking his meds. Anyway, you're responsible for your own actions, no one or nothing else.

cypress- exactly. I am a firm believer that children are a product of their environment, and that it's the parent's responsibility to make sure their kids turn into well adjusted, stable adults. If that means medication for a mental or emotional problem, then so be it.

Let us mention children learn about how to do this from violent, sexual, drugs and suicidal pranks in films and TV.

not to mention to mention how he and his wife treat their son.A--hole.

moron. no one ever pays attention to the warning signs with these school shooters. And then afterwards, everyone is all, well so and so needed help...so how come they don't get help until it's too late? And the fact that a lot of people who need to be on medication aren't, for a variety of reasons. If the guy was on medication he would have been a lot more stable.
