Just six months after the tragic death of
John Travolta’s son Jett, he has a movie coming out. The thriller,
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, which also stars
Denzel Washington, premiered last night in Los Angeles.
Denzel showed up to the red carpet for interviews, but Travolta was unsurprisingly absent.
Hollyscoop caught up with Denzel on the red carpet and asked if he’d had any contact with his co-star.
He told
Hollyscoop exclusively, “I talked to him about three weeks ago, for a couple of hours and umm… he’s doing well.”
John Travolta backed out of doing media promotion for their new movie The Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3 because he is still struggling to cope with the death of his son Jett. We didn’t expect John to show up to last night’s premiere, as it’s so soon after Jett’s death, and he is probably just spending time with his family.
Denzel tried to keep the mood light, however, saying the movie is definitely worth a trip to the theater. He said “It’s a good script,” and that it was a “pleasure working with Tony Scott again,” and it was “great working with John Travolta.”
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 opens in theaters June 12th.
