After lots of hoopla over the September 24th cancellation, Republic vice-presidential candidate John McCain finally found time in his busy schedule to join David Letterman for a little interview last night.

He seemed slightly embarrassed but also ready to apologize. "I screwed up. What can I say? Look at all the conversation I gave you," McCain told Dave.

When asked about by Dave about his decision to choose Sarah Palin and whether or not she could lead us through the next four or even eight years, McCain replied, "Absolutely. She has inspired Americans. That's the thing we need."

What exactly has she inspired us to do again? Oh, right - to run out and upgrade outdated eyeglass frames.

McCain also revealed Sarah Palin may appear on Saturday Night Live alongside Tina Fey. "Probably get more of an audience than our debate did," he joked.
