John McCain Congratulates Barack Obama

November 04, 2008

John McCain
Senator John McCain held a press conference in Phoenix, Arizona where he gave his concession speech. With his wife and Senator Sarah Palin by his side the Senator congratulated President Barack Obama with a strong, yet emotional speech.

John McCain acknowledged the historical significance of Obama’s victory and went on to state that America has healed the wounds of history. “Senator Barack Obama has achieved a great thing for himself and his country.” McCain also touched upon the tragic loss of his grandmother just a day before the election.

Although the crowds booed, John McCain encouraged all to be faithful, “let there be no reason now for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this the greatest nation on earth.” McCain acknowledged that “these are difficult times for our country and I pledge him to lead us to many challenges he faces. I urge all Americans who supported me to join me not just congratulating him but offering our next president goodwill.”

Addressing the crowd McCain said, “Though we fell short the failure is mine not yours.” “Every candidate makes mistakes, I am sure I’ve made my share of them.” Although many critics believed that choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate was his biggest mistake, McCain thank her for being the best running mate as Palin stood by with tears in her eyes.

In his closing McCain said, “A lost election will never mean more to me than a privilege than your faith and friendship.” McCain’s campaign was a long struggle but he did say it was the honor of his life. “Today I was a candidate for the highest office of a country and tonight I remain her servant.” Overall, his speech was touching and we’re pretty sure Joe the plumber and Joe six-pack are drinking their sorrows away tonight.

he can thank Sarah palin for his loss. If he was smarter and chose someone more experienced he would have a good chance of winning
