John Mayer: Don't You Know Who I Am?

October 03, 2007

Singer John Mayer threw a diva fit the other day in Santa Monica when he was asked for an ID to accompany a credit card for a large purchase.

Mayer was at Circuit City in Santa Monica with new gal pal Minka Kelly. When he presented his black American Express to purchase some equipment the store clerk asked for an ID. Mayer got upset and asked "Do you know who I am?"

Aside from not being recognized, Mayer had reportedly lost his ID, which didn't help his situation. Not being recognized is better than his credit card getting declined or something--now that would have been embarrassing.

What a lie, Here's an account from someone who was actually there.. "Your credit’s no good here, John Mayer! On September 29, Mayer, 29, and his new girlfriend, Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly, 27, picked out $400 worth of goods at Circuit City in Santa Monica, California. But when the crooner went to pay with his American Express Black Card, the clerk — who didn’t recognize Mayer — asked to see an ID, an eyewitness tells Us Weekly. After Mayer said, “I actually lost my ID and don’t have one,” the clerk “advised John he would not be able to buy anything.” Says the observer, “John was so embarrassed. Minka was smiling and giggling and rubbed his back in support.” Eventually, the clerk recognized him, approved the purchase and apologized profusely. Says the onlooker, “John and Minka laughed and said it was no big deal before they paid and left the store holding hands.” source www.usmagazine.com Get your facts straight..then again, your lies make for better reading don't they?

Get over yourself dude. Not everyone listens to your style of music. Especially clerks at circuit city.

I've always liked this guy's music but he's becoming more of an ass daily w/this crap. Maybe the song should've been "My Ego's Bigger Than People Give Me Credit For?"
