If you’re not Nicole Richie, then there’s a 110% chance you’re not keeping up with Joel Madden ever.
The Good Charlotte frontman is in the news today after getting kicked out of his Sydney hotel room when an employee found a small amount of marijuana in his possession over the weekend.
Joel is in Australia at the moment where he’s a judge on the country’s version of “The Voice” and staying at The Darling Hotel until filming concludes.
Because it was less than 15 grams of cannabis, no charges are being filed against the 34-year-old, but in accordance with the premise’s rules and regulations he was told to leave by hotel management.
“He was not afforded any special treatment and he’s moving out,” a hotel official confirmed to the Daily Mail.
Joel responded to the incident directly, writing a note in which he takes full responsibility for the incident:
“Sunday while I was at work, a hotel employee found a small amount of marijuana in my hotel room. The police were called and responded. Sydney is is [sic] my adopted home and I appreciate the way the NSW [New South Wales] police handled the situation. They have informed me there will be no charges. I hope this doesn’t cause too much drama for anyone.”
