Joel Madden was born in 1979 in Maryland. Madden attended La Plata High School in La Plata, Maryland. He was born in a middle class family and his father left the family when he was only 16 years old. He never saw his father after he walked out on his family and that is why he changed his name from “Combs” to his mother’s maiden name “Madden”.Joel has a twin brother names Benji and two other siblings that his father left behind. That left a lot of financial problems for the family which lead to an eviction from their family home. The Madden twins decided to start their own band when they went to a Beastie Boys concert. They teamed up with two school friends and started the band Good Charlotte. Madden dated Hilary Duff for 3 years before breaking up and quickly moving on to a relationship with Nicole Richie. Thanks to Twitter, we know that Nicole has some seriously ridiculous expensive taste. She purchased $3,000 worth of pillows and Joel was pissed off about it, he tweeted it to the entire world.
"Do you ever look at your credit card bill and ask your wife how the hell she could spend 3 thousand dollars on pillows? I do. PILLOWS," he tweeted.
Nicole has a simple reply for him, "That's why I ignore your calls," she Tweeted.
Joel continued, "I mean, can't we just go to Target and get our pillows??? [Shaking My Head'."
No response from Nicole. She was probably eyeing a $4,000 pillow cover.
But Joel really put his foot down. "Needless to say, the pillows are going back to the expensive ass pillow store. Hope she likes the Target pillows I'm putting in their place!...Trust me the pillows were gone before i even tweeted!"
Love you Nicole, but I'm with Joel on this one. Who the hell spends $3,000 on pillows!? And they bet they're those super uncomfortable fancy ones that just sit there and collect dust.
"I was thinking they must be made from unicorn manes or some s**t," Joel joked. So was it? That would explain a lot.

Speaking about their special day, Nicole told People, "It was magical." Adds Madden, "It was the best night of my life."
There was a lot of speculation about the dress she would wear but she ended up going with a Marchesa for the actual ceremony (she had three dresses total). The ball-gown skirt was crafted from more than 100 yards of hand-draped silk organza and tulle petals.

Page Six reports that the duo will in fact tie the know this weekend and as late as yesterday “playing the weekly magazines against each other to drive up the price”.
Don't get any ideas about the couple being greedy because they actually plan on donating the money to charity.
She was originally dealing with OK! but headed over to People because she wanted the full cover.
“Things got complicated because both Kim Kardashian and Christina Aguilera said they couldn’t attend the wedding because of other commitments,” a source said.
It's reportedly gonna be a very small wedding and Nicole's wedding planner has been personally telephoning and inviting guests.
It's funny how celebrity weddings become this undercover covert operation.

Nicole has reduced the guest list (sorry Paris!) to just super close friends and family members. Trucks have been lined up outside of father Lionel Richie's house in Beverly Hills all week to set up for the affair.

"She didn't invite a bunch of her celeb friends. This has apparently upset a lot of people."
So far we know the wedding will be true to Nicole's style, Christina Aguilera will be one of the guests--if not performer and Joel will have Benji by his side as his best man.

Rumors started going around about a possible wedding when delivery trucks were spotted at Lionel Richie's Beverly Hills mansion.
There have been rumors for months now that Nicole and Joel were going to get married this weekend. It also happens to be their anniversary weekend, but Nicole attempted to squash the rumors by Tweeting that she's in NYC.
On Friday night she Tweeted: "Aaahhhhh FINALLY a proper winter. And I had to go all the way to New York to get it."
Unless we see pics of Nicole Richie in NYC, we're gonna assume that she's trying to pull a fast one.
Interestingly enough, the first time Hollyscoop ever wrote about Nicole and Joel was December 6, 2006 after the two were spotted getting cozy at Teddy’s together. This could explain why they chose to get married this weekend—it’s their four year anniversary!
