Michael Jackson's Father Flashes Gun on Crowd

You know that crazy relative you try to keep away from the mic at family events? Well, that's nothing compared to the Jacksons' dysfunctional tomfoolery.

Joe Jackson, the father of MJ, proved that he is just as unstable as ever over the weekend, flashing his handgun to a crowd of onlookers like a badge of honor.

According to TMZ, the incident went down in Las Vegas where he was being honored during the Black Music Awards at the Tuscany Hotel.

Joe apparently felt the need to show his appreciation to the crowd by demonstrating he was just one crazy thought away from shooting them all up.

Family friend Majestik intro’d the Jackson dad, sharing a story about Joe’s confrontation with some of Michael’s bodyguards two weeks prior to the pop icon’s untimely death.

"If I hear you all givin' my son drugs or doing anything illegal with my son ... I'ma kill all of you,” announced Majestik, remembering Joe's dialogue during the incident.

Joe took to the mic, agreeing with the story and telling the audience, "It's very true. Every word he said."

"I carry a piece everywhere I go,” added Joe. “I'm gonna show it to you."

And then – yes – he did. Joe opened his suit coat to reveal and the weapon in its holster on his hip.

Joe explained that the gun – like his American Express card – is something he simply doesn’t leave the house without. ‘Cause you never know when you’re going to need to shoot something at the grocery store, right?

Joe added, "I've been threatened a lot of times and so I need to be safe."

It’s currently unclear as to whether or not Joe is legally allowed to carry the weapon or if the handgun is even registered.

One thing that is certain: Moving forward, you should probably not mess with J.J.
