Joaquin Phoenix Wants to be Remembered for Music, Not Acting

When we first heard about Joaquin Phoenix's "rap" career, we were sure he was either just kidding or it was all a part of this master PR stunt. Unfortunately, it's neither.

Phoenix is not only "serious" about his singing career, he wants to be remembered for it. He explains, "I’ve always loved music and never really played anything, and, after Walk The Line, I kind of learned to play guitar and having that sense of performing, that certainly opened the door for me for music.

He added, "I’m not out to sell records. I’m experiencing something and it’s what I feel. I feel like everything in my life is leading up to this and suddenly acting doesn’t seem like that’s a big part of what was important in my life.

And it gets better. "I imagine, when I look back on my life, acting will be just a very small portion of something that I did, and I think music will be the dominant theme in my life."

It's such a shame that he's throwing his acting career away, he's so talented. Now he just looks like a dazed werewolf trying to rap. What are your thoughts on his "singing" career, is it for real, or is he pulling our leg?
