‘Can we talk?’ Sure, as long as you have $29 million. Actually, $29.5 million.
Joan Rivers, the acerbic voice of the E! show Fashion Police, is selling her 5,190 square foot Manhattan duplex.
Designed in a neo-French Classic style, the condo has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a library, terrace, and gorgeous views of Central Park.
And, quite possibly, also a ghost.
Rivers shared a paranormal experience on the Bio channel’s Celebrity Ghost Stores, saying her New York City apartment was being haunted by the pissed-off niece of J.P. Morgan. Rivers even enlisted the help of the NYU Parapsychology Department, hiring a voodoo priestess to exorcise the apartment.
Rivers said she asked her neighbors if they wanted to the priestess to do the same in their apartments. “Not one neighbor refused,” Rivers said, “Everybody had a story.” One of the neighbors apparently had an experience where the ghost had decapitated all the cherubs on her decorative chandelier.
So anyway, four bedrooms, five baths, gorgeous views…
The listing states:
“Steps from Fifth Avenue, the full service Pre-War Condominium was designed by renowned architect Horace Trumbauer in the neo-French Classic style. The 42-foot wide mansion is one of the few remaining examples of the architect's 'great houses' in New York. The original architectural detail was painstakingly restored by museum-trained artisans."
Back in 2009, Rivers tried to unload the apartment for $25 million but has since upped the price. The apartment is gorgeous, with ornate designs in every room, just overflowing with decadence. But keep in mind, along with that $29.5 million price tag comes $12,600 a month in condo fees and $7,500 in taxes.
And don’t forget, you also have that pesky ghost infestation.
