Late night television talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be shipping out to the east coast for the first time ever!
Beginning October 29 through November 2, JKL will broadcast from Brooklyn, New York.
Kimmel – a native of Brooklyn himself – announced the news today on Live! With Kelly, where he was acting as a guest co-host. JKL will broadcast from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), a staple of the borough since 1861. BAM is the oldest performing arts centers in the country.
The show promises plenty of Brooklyn locales and Brooklyn-themed activities in the five-episode retreat. Coincidently, the trip will correspond with the Barclays Center homecoming of the NBA team the Nets, previously housed in New Jersey.
Now in it’s tenth season, the show has mostly remained a homebody to Los Angeles.
This will be the Kimmel teams’ first road trip since a stint at Detroit in 2006. JKL recorded a five episodes at the GEM Theater – one of the show’s best rated weeks ever.
Hyundai is on board to sponsor the Brooklyn excursion, so expect some less-than-subtle advertisements for the affordable automobiles voiced by Jeff Bridges.
So what Brooklyn celebs can we expect on the shows? No official word yet on who will be dropping in.
Now that the host’s has government connections, maybe JKL will go all out and the president will stop by. Just in time for voting…
