It’s not exactly a huge secret that Jim Parsons, who plays the asexual nerd Sheldon Cooper on “The Big Bang Theory,” was gay.
There are blogs dedicated to him and his partner Todd Spiewak ever since he thanked his boyfriend in an Emmy speech.
Basically, Jim Parsons' sexual orientation has always been the big gay elephant in the room.
Not that Parsons was ever “in the closet,” because that assumes he was hiding something. I guess the cat is now officially out of the bag.
The actor will appear in the upcoming film “The Normal Heart,” a movie about a gay activist. The New York Times just ran a profile on him and said this,
“The Normal Heart resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship…”
A source close to Hollyscoop told us that “Jim was never ‘in the closet,’ he has never hidden anything, he has been to award shows with his boyfriend and thanked him in speeches, so there was nothing to 'come out of.'
So there, this is a non-announcement. During his 2010 Emmy acceptance speech he thanks his partner Todd. He rattled off a list of his family members and friends whom he “loved” and in the list of all his “must remember to thank” he threw in the name “Todd Spiewak.”
They were even rumored to be engaged back in 2010.
