Just when I thought ‘Stuck on You’ director Peter Farrelly couldn’t possibly get any dumber, he goes and does something like this…AND TOTALLY REDEEMS HIMSELF!
Peter Farrelly has confirmed a sequel to ‘Dumb and Dumber’, and it gets better. ‘Dumb and Dumber 2’ will star the original dumb duo, Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey, and the movie will start shooting this year.
Will Harry and Lloyd finally open that worm store? Will they go someplace warm, where the beer flows like wine? Personally, I can’t wait to find out.
Peter said: ''We're getting set to shoot 'Dumb and Dumber 2' in September. It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."
By the way, Farrelly had nothing to do with the 2003 prequel, ‘Dumber and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.’
“We did not do 'Dumb and Dumberer'. That was a studio thing," Peter said. "So we've always wanted to do a sequel and finally Jim called up. Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it. Jim was busy, but he called and said, 'We've got to do this thing again'.''
No word yet on what the premise for the sequel will be, but the original focused on the story of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne—two friends who traveled across the country to try to find the woman of their dreams. The 1994 flick made $247 million at the international box office.
For ‘Dumb and Dumber 2,’ Farrelly will once again direct with his brother Bobby Farrelly, and Sean Anders and John Morris will write the screenplay.
