Following 55 months of pregnancy, Jessica Simpson gave birth to her second baby.
A little boy named Ace Knute Johnson. But the world may never get to know him as well as her daughter Maxwell Drew, because according to a report, magazines aren’t exactly vying for the first photos of the newborn.
According to Naughty But Nice Rob, it’s because of two reasons: 1.) Her People magazine exclusive from last year underperformed, and 2.) North West.
“There is nowhere near the interest in Ace as in North,” a weekly editor-in-chief told Naughty But Nice Rob.
“When Jessica sold the first pictures of her daughter to People magazine, the issue did not sell very well. We have all seen the newsstands’ numbers and felt the same will be true for her son.”
“It’s all about Kim Kardashian,” another senior weekly editor admitted. “Jessica hasn’t sold weekly magazines in a long time. That is not to say that a weekly wouldn’t love to have the first images of Jessica and her baby boy, just they are not prepared to offer a lot of money to get them.”
To be fair, Jessica does capture the public’s interest for her fashion empire in her own right, but second babies don’t generally draw as much in sales, no matter the celebrity.
