John Mayer: The Comic

My love for John Mayer had quickly diminished when he started dating Jessica Simpson but for some odd reason hearing his recent interview with Ryan Seacrest made me remember why I loved this guy.

Last night at the Grammy’s, after he was done with the boring questions about his career, Ryan he attempted to ask John some private questions about his relationship with Jessica.

Seacrest asked: What's the scoop with Jessica Simpson?

Mayer didn’t get nervous or upset he just answered Ryan’s question in what sounded like Japanese and then suggested: "Find a Japanese person and decode it. Subtitle it. Then you'll have your answer." Mayer then told an amused Seacrest, "I'm very happy with what I just did to you," before walking off.

So what did he say in Japanese? "She's a wonderful woman and I'm very glad to be with her," a bilingual Mayer teased Seacrest.

Yeah, I lost alot of respect for John as a musician after he started dating Jessica Simpson. I think he's lost the respect of alot of fan, both guys and gals. She's a beautiful girl, but no much else. Poor actress and mediocre singer ~yawn~ I thought John was above the "media whore" thing, but I guess I was wrong. And giving those queer, cryptic answer only make him look more pretenious and self-important. Seriously, does he think that this relationship is all that? Please don't bore me. I guess all men go for the pretty face and hot body with no substance. What will he do when her next movie and album flops like all her other latest projects? I give this relationship another 3 months. Then maybe he'll come to his senses- before he finally loses his soul.

I think they look so cute together, and it's not a setup as many ppl are saying. I was a nick and jessica fan, but life goes on, and she has a right to move on and why not with a guy like mayor, he seems like a very serious,funny,loving guy he has personality and that's the most important, many say he is ugly, but I think his voice and personality makes him HOTTTTTTT!!!!!! I wish them the best, I hope they last and to those that are saying so much sh*t about jessica's look, go look at a mirrow.. jessica is looking beautiful..stop hating

I think John is good looking, don't get me wrong. I thought he was cute when he was younger, but now I think he's rather sexy with the longer, wavy hair. And I still lost respect for him as a serious musician by dating Jessica. I have nothing against her, but I feel he can do better. Sorry.

i don't understand how people can lose respect for john mayer musically because he is dating jessica simpson. that does not make any sense. ever think maybe he likes her? he fell for her as a woman, a woman none of us know so we should not judge

Dana, I understand what you are saying but I kinda thought that John was above dating startlets and pop-stars. But he's a guy and guys love vacuous women with big boobies. Well, you know what? Best of luck to them.

Maybe, instead of losing respect for the man, you should gain respect for the lady. There may be much more to Jessica Simpson than we ever realized.

I've heard phrases to describe Miss Simpson, but never anything that would indicate anything more than a Texas beauty queen. But please, keep making us laugh : )

Stefy get over yourself. Who someone dates doesn't make them as a musician. You either like him for his music, or you don't like him. And how do you know who Jessica Simpson really is? We really need less judgemental people in this world.
