Jessica Simpson says she’s already been calling her baby by her anticipated name, and now we all might know that name.
“They’re going to call her Maxwell, Maxi for short,” a friend of Jessica’s told In Touch.
Not bad, but…why?
“Jessica wanted a name with meaning,” the friend continued. And Maxwell is Jessica’s fiancé’s middle name, and also his grandmother’s maiden name.
Jessica has reportedly been seen wearing a diamond necklace with an “M” pendant on it, and she and fiancé Eric Johnson have also already ordered baby clothes with the name embroidered on it.
I dig the name, but doesn’t Maxwell Simpson sound like some sort of evil 1920s business mogul? I just imagine a guy in a top hat twirling his mustache.
Either way, Jessica is set to give birth on April 20, three weeks ahead of her original due date.
“She’s gained so much weight,” her friend revealed. Personally, I hadn’t noticed.
“And the baby is so big that doctors pushed up the date.”
Jessica recently appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she told the host that she’s been having Braxton Hicks contractions, which are supposed to prepare the mother for the pain of labor. Meanwhile, I think 'Braxton Hicks' is actually a pretty cool baby name.
“I'm prepared,” Jessica told Ellen. “It's scary. It's like oh God, this can happen right now."
Jessica added that she thinks Maxwell is already reacting to her name. “Or, I could be one of those psycho moms that just thinks one little kick…is her really listening to me.”
