Now that Jessica Simpson has finally opened up about her baby bump, she's catching up for all the interviews where she pretended like her growing belly wasn't hiding a baby inside.
She talks to US Weekly and says that she and her fiancé Eric Johnson are “both thrilled” and that, “we can't wait to meet our baby!”
So glad she's finally come out about the pregnancy, because there's nothing worse than mistaking a fat person for a pregnant person and asking them when they are due only to have them glare at you and try to hide the chipotle burrito they are munching on. Simpson was treading dangerously into that territory.
A source close to Simpson says she is “very, very excited about the pregnancy. Family is really the most important to her.”
The pal says she doesn't have any morning sickness but she is “really tired lately." “She goes to bed super early now and gets up at 5:30 in the morning.” Sounds like me, except I'm not pregnant…
However, in Hollywood there is no such thing as maternity leave. Celeb mommies keep working regardless if they've got a bun in the oven.
“The craziest thing is, she's still taking all her meetings -- in heels!" jokes the source.
Some of those jobs the source is referring to is her upcoming NBC reality show, “Fashion Star” which also stars Nicole Richie. She has her “Jessica Simpson Collection” line of clothes, handbags, and shoes. She just launched her skincare line with BeautyMint.com and she apparently in talks to launch a jewelry line with Zales.
I literally cannot remember what career Simpson had that originally made her famous. I want to say it had something to do with Nick Lachey and maybe country music…but I can't be sure.
Simpson's latest interview is when she covered the December 2011 issue of Lucky Magazine. This was before she opened up about her baby bump, but she did shed light on some other parts of her life.
While we now know that she probably postponed the wedding because of the baby, she told Lucky why she was holding off on the wedding,
“I haven't started shopping for our wedding yet,” she admits. “When I got engaged, everyone thought I would get married immediately, but I have not put a single dress on, and by the time this comes out I will not be married! We're just enjoying being engaged right now-and that's honest.”
