Jessica Simpson is getting her own sitcom based on her life. Yeah, I know.
Jessica Simpson, whose acting career starts at Daisy Dukes and ends with Carls Jr. is reportedly going to star in a scripted television sitcom for NBC that is loosely based on her own life.
It’s not a reality show, you guys. This is not "Newlyweds" Part II. It’s a show, with a script and real acting. Jessica will star and executive produce the show.
Anyways, Jess is teaming up with one of her Fashion Star producers and the guy who wrote Paul Blart: Mall Cop, to develop the new show. Oh geez, Paul Blart: Mall Cop? Everything about this show is already stressing me out.
The pilot will be shot, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will ever end up on TV. But maybe it will, people LOVE Jessica Simpson and love watching Jessica Simpson.
Jess says her life is perfect material for a TV show, “I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life.”
Gah, if I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say that.
Jessica continues: “So between the real-life elements and a great team of writers, I think we'll have people laughing."
The show’s producer call Jessica, a “modern-day Lucy with incredible comedic chops.”
Last time I checked, Jess wasn’t a comedian but rather a singer turned brand empress, but I'll still tune in.
