Jessica Simpson: "I am very happy!"

Jessica Simpson is at the Cannes Film Festival to announce her newest film project, Major Movie Star. Earlier Friday, news about her break-up with boyfriend John Mayer spread like wild fire.

Simpson however did not let her break-up affect her work. The starlet arrived at the Budweiser Select yacht in Cannes to help promote her new role. The military themed film will start shooting in July in Louisiana.

When asked about the split, Simpson replied: "I am very happy, but I don't really want to talk about my personal life tonight because it's not what it's about. But I am very happy. I will let you know that."

On a side note, it seems like Jessica was sporting a lighter do. Now that she is not with John Mayer is she going back to blonde? Whatever the case is we hope she is lightening up the hair because brown definitely was not a great color for her.

I was wondering the same thing. Her acting is horrible!!!!

It must be her daddy who is doing the movies...cause she is a horrible actress. Unfortunately, even her singing has gotten worse. She is a "has been" ever since she left Nick. Thank goodness he is with someone who can appreciate him cause she sure didn't. That was evident on the Newlyweds.

Hey New Haven..I'm not a Jessica hater by any means...I wish her well, but geez, be honest here...she looks bad and she really can't act or sing!She was much cuter in the days when she started out. Her claim to fame is the Newlyweds. Whether you want to hear it or not, Jessica has become a kind of laughing stock of sorts. Her father really didn't help matters,it really is annoying to be continually called a hater, when one is just observing what they see.
