Jessica Simpson Confirms Pregnancy With Halloween Costume
I guess she couldn’t get the $500,000 she was allegedly looking for, so Jessica Simpson just went ahead and announced her pregnancy online. Probably wanted to beat out Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo, too.

On her personal website, Simpson posted a photo of herself in her Halloween costume. And she’s either going as a pregnant mummy or a fat chick wrapped in toilet paper.

Along with it, Simspon wrote: It’s true, I’m going to be a mummy!” Okay, mummy it is.

In the photo, Jessica holds her belly, a la Beyonce at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. And yes, pretty much anytime I see a pregnant woman doing that from now on, it’s going to remind me of Beyonce at the Video Music Awards.

This is Simpson’s first child with her NFL fiancé Eric Johnson. Actually, it’s her first child, period. She’s been speculated to be sporting a bump for months now, and in recent days has been doing very little to hide it. So there you go, people, Jessica Simpson is pregnant.

She and Johnson recently postponed their November wedding, and no one really knew why. They both appeared to be happy together, with Simpson Tweeting in September:

“I met a wonderful man. Damn I’m lucky.”

In case you’re thinking maybe she was referring to someone else, she also posted a bunch of photos of Mr. Wonderful himself.

So it looks like they’re probably putting things off until the baby comes. Nothing like walking down the isle with morning sickness.

And while it’s Jessica’s first child, it’s not the first grandchild for her parents, Joe and Tina Simpson. Jessica’s younger sister, Ashlee Simpson, has a two year-old son, Bronx. So at least Jessica’s kid will have a cousin to talk to about how weird Grandpa Joe is.

Last year, Jessica appeared on The View, where she told the ladies: “I can’t wait to have kids.” And then in March, she Tweeted: “Dreamt I had a son named Tenacious D. That was a strange one.”

Let’s hope she picks a better name.

No word on the status of the wedding plans. A friend told Us Weekly: “She can't figure out what kind of day she wants. Some days she wants a big wedding in Hawaii, then other days she wants something closer to home.” Congrats to the mummy-to-be.
