The romance is over between
Jessica Simpson and
Tony Romo. Just a few weeks after her ex Nick Lachey broke up with his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, Jess and Tony have decided to call it quits.
A source close to Jessica tells
People that Tony broke up with the Jessica last Thursday, which was the night before her 29th birthday. Talk about bad timing!
The source says, "She is heartbroken. She loves Tony. But it's been difficult lately. He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show (The Price of Beauty). They decided to part ways."
Tony wasted no time getting back out on the dating field. He was spotted at LA hotspot MyHouse on Friday night (Jess’ bday night). A source says, "He had quite a few girls stop by his dance floor table. Romo was sipping Grey Goose and having a fun time with the boys."
The source added, "They were good together for along time. But I guess it wasn't meant to be."
Jessica seems to be taking it in stride. On Sunday she tweeted, "Everyone needs to know that hope floats ... grab the strings and pull it back to you." Three hours later, she wrote, "Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please lord give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace."
Poor Jessica!!! We loved the two of them together! But we know she’ll bounce back. Despite the rollercoaster year she’s had, we know there’s a long line of guys dying to date her!
