Don't mess with Jessica Simpson or she'll take you to the cleaners--okay not really, but she'll get pissed and sue you.

OK! magazine had published an article claiming that Jess' new beau Tony Romo dumped her after his team was eliminated from the NFL playoffs.

Simpson's attorneys contacted OK! claiming the article reflects a "smear campaign" and has subjected Simpson to "public contempt, ridicule, aversion or disgrace."

Her lawyers are now asking OK! magazine to retract their February 4th article and issue her an apology. She basically wants the world to know that Tony didn't dump her and they're still together.

I can't believe she would get so bent out of shape over a silly rumor. All she had to do was go to lunch at the IVY with him and everyone would know they're still together. Duh!

I dont know why you all expect Tony to concirm or deny anything. He normally says nothing, thats just the way some chose to handle rumors. That doesn't mean that the stories are true, get the lawyers involved I say. Those tabloids aren't just lying about her "On-Going" relationship with Tony. Their attacking her relationship with her family also, claimming that Ashlee is trying to "Distance herself" from Jessica. Ashlee has a life all her own, and just because their not joined at the hip, doesn't mean that they aren't still close. I am the youngest of 7 kids, 5 of them being girls. I don't have to be up-under their arm-pits, just to maintain a close relationship with them. You live your lives, loving & supporting eachother from a distance. Then, just like Jessica's family, we gather for the holidays, birthdays, etc........

I agree with you Connie that Britney & Lindsay's lives are a mess. No argument from me on that one. But as far as talent is concerned Jessica can't hold candle to those 2. She is in Paris Hilton's/Kim K league: she's just a ditzy reality star who has a pretty face & big tits. Not much talent required. That's why a lot of folks rag on her. I kept wondering how the hell she keeps getting movie roles. Then it was reported that she finances them. OK fine it's her money. I just feel for the girl because she is always getting slammed. And I really don't have high hopes for the country album. Carrie is a hard act to follow. She's going to have to raise her game to a new level to compete with her. I hope I'm surprised. But like I said in a previous thread about her, at least she's not a mess like Britney and her daddy keeps her out of trouble. Lindsay might be a talented actress, but she is broke right now and can't get A list roles because her insurance is too high. It's going to be a minute before she's the "it girl" again and by that time, it might be someone else. Jessica is worth $50-60 mil. And her fashion line is doing well. I saw some of her shoes at Macy's and the're really cute. So even if she is going through a slump at the moment, I would rather be her than those two.

I do believe the OK story about Ashlee is untrue. But I have no doubt Tony & Jessica are done. You guys dont understand. The local media here in Dallas has been brutal. She didn't sue but she firmly denied on TV about the cheating rumours and the guys' reps also denied it. Her ex-husband already said they still remain faithful to each other so that's good enough. This OK! article is meant to publicly humiliate her. They didn't just say he dumped her, but they added a lot of fake descriptions about her, which convince the public more into believing she is that type of person.

when they first started their relationship, the media was everywhere, asking him about the romance and all he answered was, "I'm not commenting on my personal life". So why should he respond on this. He only seem to comment on things related to football. To me, this is between Jessica and OK! magazine cos she is the victim here. And logically, if she is not confident in their relationship, she wouldn't have make the trouble to give the warning letter to that magazine. OK! magazine is always full of shit anyway. Right after I read that article, I knew the story was fake and the intention was more to insult Jessica.

Well Romo's friend why hasn't your friend confirmed that? He could end all this specualtion. I think they have broken up and since she does not want to look like a loser they're keeping it quiet. Tony could shut everybody up with a simple comment to the press or public appearance like Eva & Tony. He hasn't done that. And I noticed OK mag still has the story on their site. Fox channel 4 here in Dallas along with Nbc channel 5 are reporting the OK article. And they say Jess' rep deny it's true. But they also say were unable to receive comment from Tony's camp. Why I wonder. Surely he will be a part of his girlfriend's lawsuit. Read between the lines folks. What is not said is just as important as what is. He won't publicly announce a breakup but he won't back her up either and say they're still togehter.
