Jessica Biel Loses All Film Roles to Anne Hathaway

Jessica Biel says that Anne Hathaway snatches up all the film roles she wanted.

In an interview with Elle magazine, Biel confesses that her two dream roles were playing catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises” and she also wanted the role of Fantine in the new movie musical of “Les Miserables.” Both of those roles went to Anne Hathaway, thereby making Hathaway the biggest competition for Biel, according to Biel.

When Biel found out that Christopher Nolan was casting the new Batman flick she jumped at the opportunity to audition. Too bad, Nolan handed the role to Hathaway.

“(That was) another one that got away. I was gutted. I mean, to work with Christopher Nolan in that kind of a role..." admits Biel.

I hate to be “that guy” but Anne Hathaway is in a totally different category of actress than Jessica Biel. The last big film role she as in was “Valentines Day” and there were like 100 other celebrities in that thing.

Biel also admits that she got an audition for Tom Hooper’s new movie version of the famous “Les Miserables” musical that is to star Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Helena Bonham Carter.

“I felt terrified when I auditioned for Les Miserables, the movie that Tom Hooper is doing. I was terrified to sing in front of him. I auditioned for Fantine and I sang I Dreamed a Dream. I didn't get it. And I would have loved it," says Biel.

Also, she kind of had no-chance of getting that role ever since Anne Hathaway serenaded Hugh Jackman at the Oscars with a song from “Les Mis,” so Jackman has been petitioning for Hathaway to get the part since day 1.

Biel also admits to the mag that there is another actress who stole her thunder. Back in 2004, Biel also auditioned for the lead role in “The Notebook” but lost out to Rachel McAdams.

I’m sure every other actress in LA who auditioned for that role also “lost out” to Rachel McAdams, but I’m sure for Biel was especially devastating.
