Jessica Biel Hates The Press

July 19, 2007

Jessica Biel has jumped on the “I hate the press” bandwagon. Isn't funny how everyone loves the press and doesn't ignore the press when they are actually trying to make it in the industry, then when they get where they want to be they “hate the intrusion.”

Biel tells Parade magazine, "You have to have a sense of humor about anything that has to do with silly magazines. Honestly, I look at a magazine and they know more than I did. I had no clue this or that was happening. It's so funny how it really has become such a crazy, crazy world. You really do just have to laugh at everything.

"It's definitely difficult and sort of bizarre to deal with. You do really have to just get into a place where you feel Zen about it. You just have to take a deep breath and know that somebody is going to be taking your picture while you're going to the laundry and picking up your dry cleaning. You don't understand why somebody cares but they're there. So you just go about your day and ignore them. That's the best way to deal with it."

If these "silly magazines" are just making things up, like the silly rumor of Jessica and Justin dating--how do you explain the picture of you guys playing tonsil hockey?

Boy, this sure is a tough crowd. All I can say is that none of us have likely had to go from ordinary Joe or Jane paying their rent in a beater car to having people scale their walls for private pics of them or following them to the local Starbucks for instance. Therefore, you can't be so critical in my view. I think the primary roots of the cattiness that shows from people who resent comments like this about the press come from the belief celebs don't deserve what they're making or the celeb life in general. Regardless of how they got there, they have been put on a "pedestal" by the press mostly NOT by choice (Hilton's and Kardashians being exceptions). I will say this: if you're a celeb, I would ASSUME the wisest choice would be to just have sit downs w/the pa-pa often and be honest. Maybe then they wouldn't be so intrusive?

She's right though. The tabloid mags and sites do make up a lot of crap.

She's only getting all this press b/c of Timberlake. You're no supermodel or academy award winner...step down from that pedestal ! Next!
