Jessica Alba Wants to Move to NYC

'Fantastic Four' star Jessica Alba admits that she's become smitten by New York City after spending time there for her new film 'Awake In Harlem.'

She says, "I was like, `How do I move to New York?' It's a great city (and) everywhere you look there's art and restaurants and people are, like, on the move, it's very progressive.

"People talk to you, they interact. It's not like that in L.A. In L.A. everyone's in their car and they're honking at you or spitting their cigarette or their gum out at you."

I'm going to have to agree with Alba on this one, I love LA and all but everyone is so fake and superficial. If you attempt to talk to a stranger just to be nice they'll look at you like you’re a freak. Do you LA natives agree?

yo im from michigan and i went to new york to go back to school shooping during the summer and there where jsut to many ppl.. there. all ppl wernt nice this guy walkd up to the tax- tha i was going toget in to i go to the hotel i was at the ppl out side was asking me for money there where like dirty ppl every where im from westbloom field mi, the 5 richest place to live in the united state and i never been some where like tha and then we switched hotels ill never go back ................

No. I disagree. Most people in the US, and it doesn't matter which city, are very nice. New Yorkers like to think they are deep and interesting as a whole, but they aren't really. They can be judgmental and tend to give opinions on things they have no expertise in. Like LA, NYC is a mecca of shallow and superficial hipsters who don't have real jobs. But most people in both cities do want to make friends and meet people. I think you only say those things about LA if you trap yourself in a bubble and don't go out in the real world. In other words, east of the downtown! By the way, Bradgelina's kids being hounded at that NYC school is proof NYCs get pretty star struck. In LA, they are everywhere and no one cares. But NYC has more tourists which can be hell on celebrities.

When you guys talk about L.A. you guys are thinking Hollywood and Beverly hills. If you have been to the real L.A. then you guys would think different. also there are rude people everywhere and it just depends on who you talk too. L.A. is awesome and i love it.

That is very true, new yorkers DO NOT bother celebs at all. LA (california) is beautiful but the people are all so fake and plastic. There is no depth in the city. Everyone is trying to be famous and everyone looks at you as if you the most hidious thing that they ever saw before. The guys are such tools in la. I say new york is a way better place to live if you dont want to deal with the superficial world that is la. But LA has better weather!

P.S.: I think true new-yorker was speaking about rude rush hour semantics, of which I totally agree. Manhattan, however, is a different island in the evening as opposed the mornings.

LA is for people who like space. NY is for people who like people. Plus we don't have as many bleached blond bimbos that LA has. The clubs close at 2:00 in LA and that totally sucks. New Yorkers don't even leave their apt. to go out until midnight. We tend not to bother celebrities on the street cause we're just too fucking cool for that.

interesting. I have lived in NYC for over four years and have to disagree with most of you. New Yorkers are not nice at all. They are very self centered. They are constantly on a hurry, and if they have to walk over you to get to their destination, they will do it without any remorse. I have also been to L.A. a few times and have to agree that most people in L.A. are very superficial. At least in NY you can have intellectually stimulating conversations about politics, world affairs, art, culture, etc., unlike L.A. where the people (or at least that was the impression I got)mostly talk about their next plastic surgery or their dream of making it big in la la land. However, I do HEART NYC and wouldn't change it for any other city in the world, well, maybe for Paris, I would.

The people in Hollywood are not the people of LA. Hollywood is pretty weird and fake to people in LA too. They are two different places. Fake people are in every city, every where, including the beloved NYC!
