Jesse James tried to do some damage control on Tuesday by crying on ABC's "Nightline."
He finally spoke out about being, as he said, “the most hated man in the world” and cheating on Sandra Bullock in an interview with Nightline‘s Vicki Mabrey.
“I took a perfect marriage and a perfect wife and the perfect life and stepmother and threw it away because of my actions," he said while getting teary eyed.
So why did he do it? He claims it was lack of self-esteem and the fact that he was abused as a child.
“I grew up with a huge amount of shame and fear and abandonment on my shoulders from a very young age and I think…the way my mind rationalized [cheating on Bullock], ‘Well, you know, I might as well do whatever I can to like run her off cause she is going to find out what I am anyway and leave me anyway,’” he said.
All in all, it seemed like he was genuinely sad during the interview, but it doesn’t change the fact that he cheated, lied and broke Sandra's heart. And that's something Sandra fans can never really forgive him for. Check out his full interview with "Nightline" below and you tell us your thoughts.
