Hold on to those forks, kids! This show ain’t done yet…
Despite all reports indicating that “Jersey Shore” has taken a stroll down chopping block lane, it turns out the fate of the MTV series is still up in the air. In other words, season six may not be the final run for the original cast.
A rep for the network has confirmed with Hollyscoop that they have yet to reach a verdict.
“No decision on a final season has been made yet,” the rep said.
According to In Touch magazine, season six was going to be the last for Snooki, Vinny, Pauly-D, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, and the rest of the gang. According to the weekly publication, producers sat the cast down and told them more or less that this was the end of the line.
“An executive producer announced that this season will be the last,” an insider reportedly told In Touch. “She stressed to the cast that fans will remember them for this season, not the first, so they should bring their 'A' game.”
Of course, the “shocking” news wasn’t exactly a hard pill to swallow. Even to viewers, the original cast was beginning to get a little too grown up for their original antics.
Both The Situation and Snooki have appeared to become responsible adults. Mike’s out of rehab and is trying to rebuild the bridges he burned down during previous seasons. Snooki’s pregnant bump has caused her to make all sorts of conscientious choices for her baby-to-be. The mini guidette ended her tanning spree and decided to live in a quiet, separate home during “Shore” season six filming.
Even if the show doesn’t continue on, I doubt the cast members will be hurting much for beer money any time soon…
Vinny just wrote a tell-all book about his struggles with anxiety, Snooki and JWoww have their own spinoff series, and Paul-D is about to release a tasty signature mixed cocktail.
