'Jersey Shore' Star Ronnie On Vinny's Departure: 'He Was the Glue'

Last night’s episode of Jersey Shore continued to document Vinny Guadagnino’s existential meltdown.

We’re used to casual sex, drunken shenanigans, clogged toilets…so this was quite the change of pace for the show.

Hollyscoop talked to Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz-Magra at the 2012 People Choice Awards, and he gave us some insight on Vinny’s increasing depression throughout Season 5.

“Vinny was dealing with [depression] since the first season, so it was like I’ve been talking to him for seasons and seasons about this,” Ron reveals to Hollyscoop. “And it’s like, it sucked to see him leave because he was kind of the glue, with the guys. You lose Vinny, and it’s like…you could see it in everybody.”

Apparently Vinny’s absence had a profound affect on the rest of the season.

“You’ll see throughout the season how it affected everybody.”

Alright, that’s enough of a downer. Let’s talk about something fun. Like Ron Ron juice! Ron is currently working on getting his mysterious booze concoction trademarked, so what can we expect it to taste like?

“You’ll find out soon enough,” Ron said, guarding his recipe closely.

And what about him and Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola?

“I’m still friends with her, but we’re not together,” Ronnie says.

But who knows what the future might hold?

“We’ve shared so much stuff together that in the end, when all this calms down, [she] would be somebody that I consider marrying, later down the line.”

So not now?

“Like later, later down the line,” Ron insists.
