Jerry Lewis was pulled from his last telethon for Muscular Dystrophy today, and it's speculated that his poor health may be to blame.
MDA chairman, R. Rodney Howell, said the 85 year-old comedian will be replaced, but they aren't forgetting his efforts:
"Jerry Lewis is a world-class humanitarian, and we're forever grateful to him for his more than half century of generous service to MDA."
Lewis is currently struggling with a debilitating back condition, heart issues and pulmonary fibrosis. He will appear in a documentary that will air this fall, Method to the Madness of Jerry Lewis.
And there's nothing like a guy who's too old to care. Lewis was recently interviewed by GQ Magazine and he divulged a bunch of Hollywood secrets. He says of his days with Dean Martin:
"This is when I’m f-cking everybody in Hollywood."
Lewis even revealed having sex with Marilyn Monroe:
"It was long. I was crippled for a month. And I thought Marlene Dietrich was great!"
Who knew he was such a player?
And the comedian's got some bad news for Will Ferrell:
"He won't be here in eight years."
Damn. That's harsh. But luckily, he lists Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock as having longevity. He says Chris Rock is "very, very powerful."
"He comes from the place it's supposed to come from. My great-grandchildren will enjoy him."
