And it ended with someone getting stabbed in the neck. This is why I don't travel.
Jeremy Renner was attacked in a bar fight in Thailand during an evening out bar-hopping on the island of Phuket. Here's how it went down.
Jeremy's friend, Vorasit Issara, the General Manager of the Siri Panwa Resort, dropped a glass on the floor of the establishment. Somehow, that started everything. Because you know, glasses never fall on the floor at nightclubs. Six men who worked there then attacked Jeremy and his entourage, stabbing Vorasit in the neck with a homemade battleaxe. He was also knifed in the stomach.
Police found the axe stashed under a sofa in the karaoke room. If people can't put aside their differences and get along with a karaoke room nearby, there's no hope for humanity.
It's not yet known if Renner, who stars alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol suffered any serious injuries in the incident. Some witnesses claim that Vorsit was arguing with the staff right before the fight erupted.
TMZ reports that local authorities have arrested the six men who instigated the attack for attempted murder of Vorasit. Ranging in age from 18 to 33, the men admitted they used a pocket knife to stab Vorasit and a battleaxe to strike his neck, twice.
Phuket Police Commander Maj Gen Chonasit Wattanavrangkul told media that the assault arose from "a minor misunderstanding".
According to authorities, the men thought that Vorasit had thrown a glass on the floor when it actually got knocked off of a table accidentally.
