Jeremy Piven Ready to Go Back to Work

Jeremy Piven got a lot of heat last month when he abruptly ended his run in Broadway's Speed-the-Plow due to "Mercury Poisoning."

Producers of the show were pretty upset with him but stayed mum about the subject to the press. The writer of the show however, was more than happy to make a few sarcastic comments about his illness.

"I talked to Jeremy on the phone, and he told me that he discovered that he had a very high level of mercury," writer David Mamet said. "So my understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer."

Reports of his partying lifestyle soon made headlines, which made his "mercury poisoning" story even fishier.

He may be "too sick" to return to the play, but he's ready to get back to work on the set of his hit show Entourage. He's doing "better, better," said good friend Mark Wahlberg.

"We forced him to get some rest. And he should be back ready to go by the time we start shooting. He's got another month or so," Mark told Hollyscoop exclusively at Monday's Callaway Golf Foundation Challenge at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

So what can we expect from the new season? "Lots of craziness," says Mark. "Vince is back on the success trail. He hit bottom and worked his way back up. Now he's coming back with a vengeance!"

We'll be the first to admit that 'Entourage' won't be the same without Ari Gold, so we'll take his fishy excuse for leaving Broadway (did anyone even care about that show?!) as long as he doesn't opt off this show.

It is not that he couldn't muster 8 shows a week because that is not true. He began in the theater. He grew up in a theater family. His mom still runs the family theater. If you go to Chicago go to a show at the Piven Theatre. I am glad that he is well enough to go back to work when Entourage starts shooting on March 10th. Which he would have done anyway cause his run of the show was supposed to end Feb. 22nd. People don't report the facts just stupid rumors.

Lost of "actors" cant muster the 8 shows a week of the stage, where you have to keep everything freash for each audience. Just wish he has admitted it was too difficult for his candy butt.
