American model and actress Jennifer McCarthy was born on November 1, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. While attending Southern Illinois University, McCarthy sent her photo to Playboy and was selected. Jenny was named Playmate of the Year in 1994. In pursuit of an acting career, McCarthy landed a role hosting the MTV show Singled Out. Her electric personality led NBC to give her the lead role in the sitcom Jenny.

McCarthy has appeared in several films, including Basketball, Scream 3 and John Tucker Must Die. She gave birth to her son Evan in May 2002. She divorced husband John Asher after six years of marriage. Jenny has been romantically linked with Jim Carrey since 2005. Jenny has become an outspoken advocate for autism awareness since her son was diagnosed. She has written two best selling books on pregnancy and motherhood.
