Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Announce Divorce

After seven years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have decided to call it quits.

“We have decided to end our marriage,” the couple says in a joint statement to Hollyscoop:

“This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.”

Sources tell Hollscoop that trust issues have been a factor in the couple’s downfall.

“It is a painful time for all involved,” the statement continues. “And we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”

Lopez and Anthony married in June 2004 and have two children together, three year-old twins Max and Emme.

The couple performed seemingly happily together recently during the American Idol finale episode, but there have been media rumors of possible infidelity since 2008.

During last week’s BAFTA Brits to Watch ceremony, Lopez showed up to meet Prince William and Kate, but Anthony was nowhere to be found. Lopez instead brought her mother as her date.

Lopez and Anthony dated briefly in the 90s, staying friends during her engagement to Ben Affleck. The couple married shortly after Lopez’s engagement and Anthony’s divorce from his first wife.

Only last year, Anthony and Lopez renewed their wedding vows at their estate.

“We realized the bets in Vegas [on whether we'd make it] stopped at five years," Anthony joked to Us Weekly.

Lopez recently went on the Ellen DeGeneres show to talk about motherhood. Lopez said, “As soon as I had the babies, I thought to myself, 'I want to do this a thousand more times...I love this. This is life."

This is Lopez’s third divorce. She married Ojani Noa in 1997 and backup dancer Cris Judd in 2001.
