Marc Anthony Says He'll 'Always Love' Jennifer Lopez

Like most people, when Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez announced their split, my reaction was complete shock and disbelief followed by: "I knew this was going to happen."

Jennifer revealed in a Vanity Fair that her relationship with Marc was a struggle, but aside from telling a crowd, "they're saying I'm single," Marc hasn't said much. And I don’t even really know what he's trying to say with that phrase. But now, Anthony is proving that, while he might not have been the idea husband, he has nothing but respect and love for his soon-to-be ex.

"I'll always love Jennifer," Anthony told ABC News in an interview.

The couple was together for seven years, and while rumors surfaced that their marriage was on a downward spiral, they seemed to steadfastly work through allegations of cheating and jealousy.

That's probably why everyone had an initial reaction of shock followed by "I saw it coming."

After she announced yet another failed relationship, everyone seemed to start comparing J.Lo to the late Elizabeth Taylor, yet again. Taylor had a reputation of being in love with being in love, and Lopez seems to be living up to that, at least in the public's eye. But she certainly doesn’t mind the comparison.

“I’m not mad if people call me the modern-day Liz Taylor,” J.Lo said. “We’ve all had a love of our life and failed love affairs."

Lopez has been married three times, and she seemed to really establish her Liz Taylor cred after her high-profile breakup with Ben Affleck. But it was her first husband, Ojani Noa, who initially made the comparison. After their divorce, he wasn't as kind and respectful to Jennifer as Anthony has been. Lopez was married to Noa in 1997 for fifteen months. After the divorce, he called Lopez a "cold, heartless modern-day Elizabeth Taylor" who is "in love with herself."

Noa continued: “Wedding vows mean nothing to her… If she climbed into bed with you so easily, don’t you think she’ll do the same with someone else? She moves on when she gets tired of sleeping with the same man. She will end up in her old age all alone with seven or eight wrecked marriages in her wake."

Good call divorcing this one, Jen. Not only did Noa sound like a complete bitter jerk, he's one to talk about morals. Since their split, he's been trying to peddle an "intimate video" featuring Jennifer. The two have been battling it out in court, but thus far, Jen seems to be winning the war.

"I’m just the biggest romantic, it’s really sad,” Lopez continues, in response to her Liz Taylor comparison. “I tell people that, but nobody listens. They’re too busy writing about the thread count they think I demand.”

Keep looking for love, J.Lo, you'll find it.
