Jennifer Lopez has pissed off her peeps. According to the
NYDN, J.Lo refused to go the Latin shops to promote her first ever Spanish language album while doing her promo rounds around the country.
They are upset because they have been supporting J.Lo since day 1 but no more! Ritmo Latino has banned all J.Lo CDs from its 50 stores.
Ritmo President, David Massry, said that J.Lo "has refused personally to promote her new CD in any of our stores" and won't go to stores only devoted to Latin music.
"We've supported her from the beginning. Now we're told by her record company she will only visit Anglo retail outlets," Massry said.
"This is a Spanish-language CD, and if she wants to discriminate against the Latin community, then we will not sell her product," Massry said.
"This is not the first time this has happened.
Celebrities have this notion that when they reach a
certain level of crossover appeal, they forget quickly
where they started," he said. "We will no longer
tolerate these situations."
In J.Lo’s defense,
I don’t think she really knows where she is gonna
promote her album since its all done by her record
label, but she can still push for the
Latin stores rather than stick to what's set
up for her.
