America television airwaves about to get a serious kick Latin superstar pizzazz…
Just because she won’t be returning for the new season of “American Idol” doesn’t mean Jennifer Lopez is slowing down her freight train of music/acting/producing talent.
Adding to her massive resume, the “Dance Again” singer has partnered with nuvoTV to produce entertainment content geared at Latino audience.
A press release from the network confirms the news.
According to the release, J.Lo’s production company, Nuyorican Productions, will collaborate with nuvoTV – the first English-language cable network geared specifically toward Latino American viewers – to produce original programming and develop ways to drive viewership up.
Now that the deal is official, the songstress and mom is confident about tackling this new challenge.
“As an artist, businesswoman, producer and Latina, I’m passionate about seeing multicultural America on TV," said Lopez. "My partnership with nuvoTV reflects our mutual goal of creating top-quality entertainment and exciting stories that embrace the richness and beauty of Latin culture in America today.”
nuvoTV CEO, Michael Schwimmer, describes Lopez as a “powerhouse” and a “perfect partner.” In a statement he seems energized by the force that a name like J.Lo brings to the table.
“Jennifer Lopez is a creative powerhouse and the perfect partner for our network and we are absolutely thrilled to have her on board with us,” said Schwimmer.
“Jennifer’s unique combination of talent, imagination and determination, combined with her passion for great entertainment, gives nuvoTV a wonderful opportunity to redefine television tailored for English-speaking Latinos.”
No world on the exact kind of programming the network hopes will come out of the partnership but, but judging by the creative oomph she brings to her live shows, another Latin soap opera is not what they had in mind.
