Jennifer Lopez Discusses Mental Exhaustion After 'Idol'

Jennifer Lopez has already signed on for another season of American Idol, but it wasn't an easy decision. Lopez says at the end of this past season, she was completely worn down. Okay, her crumbling marriage probably didn't help, either.

"I got a little bit tired at the end with everything going on in my life at the time," says Lopez.

She announced her split with Marc Anthony only two months after the finale. And during the finale, Anthony made a performance, and the two seemed more in love than ever. I guess that's why we were all shocked when they made the announcement of their split. I mean, kinda shocked. I think we kinda saw it coming at some point, am I right?

J.Lo says that, despite how worn out she was, Idol was still a good experience.

"It is one of the best things I've ever done. Walking in here, they're working at a diner, and we get to watch them grow into a superstar. I was like 'OK, I'm gonna do it again.’"

I guess that $20 million paycheck helped, too. Lopez also says she enjoyed working alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, so that played a part in her decision to return as well.

Deciding to be a judge on the show was probably the best career move Lopez could've made. She's made a huge comeback, especially after releasing Love? back in April. PEOPLE also named her the most beautiful person of the year. With gals like Megan Fox and Olivia Wilde to contend with, that's a huuuuuge compliment.

So how is Simon Cowell's ego holding up since being replaced with Lopez? Hollyscoop talked to Idol judge Randy Jackson, who told us:

"He’s an amazing guy…he loves [Steven Tyler], he loves Jennifer. I mean it’s a different show, we had to flip it."

And Steven Tyler told us that, like Lopez, he had his reservations about agreeing to be on the show:

"I never wanted to do 'American Idol'; I thought this show sucked," Tyler told Hollyscoop. "How can the kids be American Idols? They haven’t played clubs, they haven’t paid their dues, they haven’t done what we did. I was wrong. They are out there we just had to look, weave through a bunch of them and find them."

J.Lo and Marc seem to be staying friends as they go through their divorce, but it can't be an easy time. J.Lo is such a professional, though, we never even guessed her marriage was in jeopardy. Let's hope life's a bit smoother for her when Idol returns in January.
