The two wowed the audience with their rendition of a mash-up of Ludacris’ “Get Back,” and J. Lo’s “Get Right.” Lopez spoke to Extra about how the two teamed up for the much-talked about duet.
"Working with Tom was amazing!" Lopez said. "I'm such a hard worker, and I'm kind of intense about my job. It's great to work with someone who is just as intense and passionate and crazy about getting everything right."
The two didn’t learn that routine overnight, either. She said, "[Tom] called me a month before and said, 'I have this idea. I'm doing this thing for the MTV Movie Awards, and I want it to be a surprise.'"
Lopez said the cane routine was her idea. She told Tom at the time, “I come out and sing a little and then we dance together. But you have to learn this cane dance that I do in the video."
Tom more than exceeded our expectations, and J. Lo said she was blown away too. "The thing with that routine is that it is one of the hardest routines. But he did it. He really, really did it. And he did a great job. I was really proud of him,” she said.
We’re excited to see more of Tom as Les Grossman now that the movie is official! Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of those dance moves!
