Born July 24, 1969, in Bronx, New York, Jennifer Lopez first got her start as a back-up dancer in various music mediums, including the television series In Living Color (1991-1993) where she was one of the "Fly Girls." Lopez then made her feature film debut in the drama My Family (1995), followed by minor roles in the action comedy Money Train (1995) alongside Woody Harrelson and the family comedy Jack (1996) with Robin Williams. In the following year, she landed her breakthrough performance as the late pop singer Selena Perez in the biopic Selena (1997) for which she earned her first Golden Globe nomination.
A string of films soon followed, including the crime thriller Blood and Wine (1996) with Jack Nicholson, the action thriller Anaconda (1997) and the crime film Out of Sight (1998) opposite George Clooney.
In June 1999, Lopez launched her music career with the release of her debut Latin pop album On the 6, which featured the hit single "If You Had My Love," went 2x Platinum and resulted in her first Billboard Music Award for Best New Artist. Also around this same time, she starred in the thriller The Cell (2000) and portrayed a domestic abused mother in Enough (2000).
Lopez' popularity and success grew immensely with the release of her second album J. Lo in 2001, which debuted at No. 1 on the pop charts, as well as her starring role in the romantic comedies The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan (2002) and Monster-in-Law (2005) opposite Jane Fonda. Additionally, Lopez starred in less successful romantic comedies, including Gigli (2003) opposite Ben Affleck, Jersey Girl (2004), Shall We Dance? (2004) and An Unfinished Life (2005).
In 2007, Lopez returned to the music scene with her Spanish speaking album Como Ama una Mujer debuting at the top of the Latin and Pop charts and her follow-up album Brave finding similar successful. She then replaced Ellen DeGeneres as a panel judge on American Idol in 2010 for which she received $20 million. In 2012, Lopez announced she was leaving the show.
Lopez' most recent projects include, the romantic comedy What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012) with Cameron Diaz, the animated film Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012) and the crime thriller Parker (2013) opposite Jason Statham.

February 1997 - January 1998
Lopez first met Cuban-born Ojani Noa when he was waiting tables in Miami and she was filming Blood and Wine. They married quickly, and in result, divorced even faster. They continued to be friends and Lopez even hired him as manager of her Pasadena restaurant Madre's in 2002. She later fired him over his attempts to disclose their relationship in a film and book.
September 1999 - February 2001
Lopez' most controversial relationship to date was with rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, who was known as a "bad boy." Their romance was going strong until the two went to a New York nightclub and Diddy's entourage got in fight that ended in gunplay. Both Diddy and Lopez were apart of the investigation, but Lopez' charges were later dropped. She stayed with him throughout the court process, but their relationship failed to prevail.
September 2001 - January 2003
Lopez started dating back-up dancer Cris Judd right before breaking up with Diddy in 2001. The two got married on September 29, 2001, but divorced in June 2002.
June 2002 - January 2004
Although still married to Cris Judd, rumors that Lopez and Ben Affleck were hooking up began to stir while the two were filming the box office failure Gigli in late 2001. They never tried to hide it and officially became a couple in 2002, three days after her divorce from Judd went through. In November of that year, Ben popped the question and the couple was close to getting married in September 2003, but canceled at the last minute. They officially broke up in January 2004.
February 2004 - July 2011
Three weeks after breaking up with Ben, Lopez and Marc Anthony began dating after recording a duet together. On June 4, 2004, four days after Anthony's divorce from former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres was finalized, the couple got married at her Miami Beach mansion. They later welcomed their fraternal twins: Emme and Maximillion Muniz. The two eventually divorced in July 2011.
November 2011 - Present
Lopez started dating 24-year-old back-up dancer Casper Smart in November 2011. Despite claiming they were merely good friends, the two were seen vacationing together on several occasions throughout 2011.
