Since her Oscar win, it seems every magazine and studio wants a piece of Jennifer Lawrence and if it ever becomes too much for the 23-year-old to carry on her shoulders, she can handle it.
Because luckily she has tips and techniques in her emotional tool kit collected during regular therapy sessions she used to have as a kid.
In an interview with French magazine Madame Figaro, Jennifer opened up about her brushes with anxiety, something that inexplicably started while she was a young student.
“When my mother told me about my childhood, she always told me there was like a light in me,” Jennifer said, “a spark that inspired me constantly. When I entered school, the light went out. We never knew what it was, a kind of social anxiety…I went to see a psychologist, but nothing worked.”
Then she discovered acting, which coincidentally helped her manage her insecurities.
“As soon as I was on stage, my mom started to see the change in me,” she explained. “She saw my fears disappear. She found her daughter again, the one who had this light and joy. I finally found my path in life and something that made me happy, because I felt capable, whereas before I felt useless. That’s why my mom fought for me to become an actress.”
