Jennifer Shrader Lawrence was born on August 15, 1990, in Louisville, Kentucky and was first discovered at the age of 14 while in New York with her family, when a passer buyer asked to take her photo and exchanged numbers with Jennifer's mother. He called the next day to set up a time for a test screening and Jennifer soon found herself living in New York City, landing commercials for MTV and performing in her first film, Devil You Know. She then moved to Los Angeles with her family to further build her new career, landing a minor role on Cold Case (2007) prior to appearing in her first feature films, including The Poker House (2008) and The Burning Plain (2008) with Kim Basinger and Charlize Theron.
Jennifer's big break came in 2010, when she starred in the critically praised film Winter's Bone - a performance that resulted in her first nominations for a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and an Academy Award. The film's major success led Jennifer to more significant and accessible roles, including The Beaver (2011) alongside Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson and X-Men: First Class (2011).
In 2012, Jennifer established herself as true star with her lead performance in the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel The Hunger Games. The film bypassed box-office records with ease on its debut weekend and launched Jennifer to stardom.

Jennifer and fellow-actor Nicholas Hoult first met while filming X-Men: First Class in 2010 and began dating shortly after. They made their debut appearance as a couple at a Sag Awards after-party in early 2011.
In a 2012 December interview with Elle magazine, Jennifer gave insight on their relationship, saying, "He is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I'm his best friend, too. He's my favorite person to be around and he makes me laugh harder than anybody."
Despite looking like an unbreakable bond, sources later told Us Weekly that the two had broken up in January 2013.
