It’s that time of the year, The 2012 MTV Movie Awards are upon us! Will “Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1” go home with the award for Best Kiss? How many nominations did “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” pick up this year? And also, how many awards are we giving to Emma Stone? Like, so many, I hope.

In honor of its 8 nominations, here are the 5 things you didn’t know about MTV Movie Award nominee “The Hunger Games.”

In case you blacked out for the past year, here’s a quick synopsis of
Have you heard of the Hunger Games? Is that even a question?

Probably the most talked about book adaptations since Twilight or Harry Potter and the Eight Films With Long Names, Hunger Games will of course follow in the footsteps of these massive book-to-movie franchises that preceded it. Sequels, sequels, sequels…

And who’s going to carry the torch for film number 2?

A director by the name of Francis Lawrence, that’s who!
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!
Jennifer Lawrence is set to star opposite Bradley Cooper in Serena, a movie set to be released in 2013.

The flick—set in 1929—focuses on a wife who can’t bear a child and then commits a murder involving a child her and her husband had before the marriage.

Hey, playing Bradley Cooper’s wife comes at a high price.
Uh oh, somebody’s about to get flour bombed!

“Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence killed a squirrel and ‘aint apologizing for it. Wait, what? Eww, and also, awww poor squirrel.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Jennifer Lawrence opened up about her sicko squirrel-skinning scene from her breakout movie, “Winter’s Bone.” Fun Fact: Jennifer Lawrence also eats a squirrel in “Hunger Games!” Somebody has a thing for squirrel meat! Gross fact Tuesdays!
Gary Ross is the man behind a little movie you might have heard of-- ‘The Hunger Games.’ And while ‘The Hunger Games’ broke box office records and has already raked in a whopping $377 million worldwide, Ross will only get a five-percent cut of the backend in addition to the $3 million he's already made.

Ross reportedly wanted a significant raise for the second film, ‘Catching Fire,’ which he said he was “looking forward to” earlier this year.
Some hardcore Hunger Games fans, and also some bitter movie critics, have decided that Jennifer Lawrence was “too chubby” for the lead role of Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games.”

As someone who has read the first 15 pages of The Hunger Games, so obviously an expert, Katniss is supposed to be starving all the time, because her “district” is super poor and has to kill squirrels to eat.
Jennifer Lawrence either has a bad girl side she's hiding, or she's really, really bad at first impressions.

Jennifer graces the April 12 issue of Rolling Stone, and in it, her friends and costars share some…interesting...first encounters with the actress.

"I'd met her a few times, and she was like, 'You should come over and we'll hang out,'" says Zoe Kravitz, who also costarred with Jennifer in X-Men: First Class.
And she also hates ghosts. This may be the most random interview ever, but hey, I'm just impressed she's not talking about how much she hates herself.

Jennifer Lawrence graces the cover of this month's German Interview magazine, showing off her hourglass figure in a rocker chic one-piece. In the mag, she talks about a couple of her favorite Hollywood icons:

"I should rather have more artistic answers ready. But the truth is
While we loved hearing the rumors that Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence was secretly hooking up with her co-star Liam Hemsworth (and Miley Cyrus’s boyfriend), Lawrence has been going strong with her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult for over a year.

His name might not register with you, but the actor made his break-out role as the “boy” in the 2002 Hugh Grant film, “About a Boy.”
In the past couple of weeks, Jennifer Lawrence has managed to call herself a Chihuahua, a troll, and a big mistake.

We get it. You hate you. And now, J.Law is talking about her running issues.

“I’m pigeon-footed so I run like I have real problems,” Jennifer told Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts. “So I decided to learn how to run with my feet straight and then they ended up just taping my ankles to make my feet go out."
