William Balfour Denied Bail

William Balfour has been denied bail at a hearing today. The prosecutor is alleging his client killed members of the Hudson family because he was angry his estranged wife was dating other men.

The Associated Press reports that at the hearing, the prosecutors say Balfour came into the family’s home on October 24th and confronted his estranged wife Julia. The two left the house together, but Balfour returned to the house. The bodies of Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother were found later that day.

The defense team is insisting Balfour is innocent, but the judge still denied him bail.

Balfour has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, and one count of home invasion. He’ll be held at the suburban Chicago Stateville Correctional Center until December 30th where he’ll go to a preliminary hearing. At least the Hudson family can get a little peace knowing he’s staying behind bars.
