Jennifer Hudson has reportedly conquered her pre-wedding jitters and is now getting ready to take the plunge.
Hudson and David Otunga -- a Harvard law graduate, WWE professional wrestler and former reality TV star -- have been engaged since 2008, but sources say Hudson called it off and needed some time to really think things through given the turmoil the she has faced over the last four years.
In 2008, the mother, brother and nephew of the Academy Award winner were tragically murdered by William Balfour. The murder trial for the crime just commenced in April and concluded in May of this year.
Obviously the whole ordeal was incredibly taxing emotionally for the star, who testified in the trial that convicted her estranged brother-in-law of the triple homicide.
RadarOnline is now reporting that they are now most definitely back on. But of the temporary hiatus, a source said “she was extremely stressed out and processing a lot of emotions about the murder of her family after the trial ended, and she just cracked.”
In regards to her engagement “Jennifer started feeling like it just wasn’t right. So many bad things have happened since they got engaged in 2008 that have prevented them from finally getting married, and she was worried that she was just trying too hard to make something happen that wasn’t meant to be.”
After some time to reflect on what she’s been through, Hudson realized that Otunga was “her rock,” and she wants to spend the rest of her life with him. “She is more sure than ever now that she is ready to get married.”
Hudson and Otunga, already have one child, David Otunga Jr. who will turn three in a couple of months.
We wish the family nothing but the best in the future.
