Jennifer Hudson is breaking her silence on the tragic murders of three of her family members 2 years ago.
Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson and brother Jason Hudson were found dead in October of 2008 inside the family’s Chicago home. The body of her nephew, Julian King was found several days later. William Balfour – the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister, Julia – was charged with the killings.
Jennifer will “talk at length” about it tonight during an episode of VH1’s Behind the Music. She’s touched upon her family’s loss in the past, like when she wrote on her Myspace page shortly after the incident, “I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. My sister and I take great comfort and strength from your love and concern.”
She also told Access Hollywood at the Grammy Awards in February 2009, “Everyone has been so supportive and it’s overwhelming.”
She won for Best R&B album that night, and thanked “my family in heaven, and those who are here today.”
Tonight she will go into greater detail about how she’s picked up the pieces, and is just as successful as before, if not more so.
The episode will take a look at Jennifer’s rise to fame, beginning with American Idol, to Dreamgirls, winning Grammies, as well as a look at her life with fiance David Otunga and their son, David Jr.
Tune in tonight!
