Jennifer Hudson Signs On For 'Sex and the City'

Jennifer Hudson

The 'Sex and the City' movie is FINALLY underway! We've been waiting for this moment ever since the series ended.

The entire cast is already on board, and to make things even better, Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson has just signed on as well. Hudson will play an assistant to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).

The movie will start shooting on September 19 in NYC.

What do you guys think will happen? Will Carrie and Big get married in the movie? Will Carrie Bradshaw turn into a diva and torture her assistant? I'm so curious and excited to see what the movie is going to be about. All I can say is that they better deliver!

Well im terrified now because they signed this chick on. PLEASE dont! And newsflash hbo productions, stay within the cast you have. PLEASE dont change things. Dont sign on movie stars. Keep it original. There is no need for jennifer hudson to be in the movie at all. I freakin am a sex and the city fanatic and i can already tell something is wrong if they hired her to be an assistant. You can hire a non known actress. GET IT TOGETHER SEX AND THE CITY, YOU BETTER NOT RUIN THIS MOVIE FOR ME BY MAKING IT GENERIC. STICK TO WHAT YOU DO AND DONT CHANGE A DAMN THING.

I can just see Hudson after getting the call: (gasp) "Look what God can do!"
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/11/2007 07:55 AM

after all the awards J. Hudson has won and she is called a "non actor"...umm interesting. What is it that you all are really afraid of? Jennifer is a fine actress...hence winning awards after awards after awards for her very FIRST major movie...ummm says alot to me. And sunny although you were trying to be sarcastic...I am sure J Hudson gave God the props He deserves, why not give it a try yourself
Posted by: miss thang on 09/11/2007 08:58 AM

miss thang, I may as well give props to Oliver Twist or the Easter Bunny.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/11/2007 09:28 AM

Miss Thang, read Lala's post again. She didn't call JH a "non actor." She said "You can hire a non known actress." Meaning, she wanted the producers to hire someone who was not well-known because hiring someone like Jennifer might take some of the spotlight off of the regular cast. As long as Jennifer's part is relatively small, I don't mind her addition - but SATC fans want to see the 4 girls and Mr. Big - not new cast members.
Posted by: Blake on 09/11/2007 09:29 AM

Besides, miss thang, don't you see that a clear implication of Hudson's Oscar speech was that God chose her over the other nominees? That God liked her but not those 4 bitches who were also nominated?
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/11/2007 09:30 AM

You know, I love her voice, but she's not a good actress, honestly. I thought her performance was ok in the movie, but her singing voice is what got her over. And Beyonce is still pissed off that the movie didn't push her over the top (because it was supposed to be about her, not Jennifer). I hope she does well, but I don't think this movie is going to be very good. Sarah Jessica better be very, VERY careful.

thanks Blake, I misread-but Sunny, as I mentioned earlier maybe you should give God some props...for you are living and apparently in pretty good health..something to be thankful over. God bless you.
Posted by: miss thang on 09/11/2007 10:32 AM

And miss thang, perhaps you should apply a little critical thought to your beliefs. I suggest reading God is Not Great or The God Delusion. Oliver bless you.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/11/2007 10:43 AM

No thank you. I KNOW what God has done for me and truely grateful and NOTHING can shake that. Seen miracles happen and all. Like I said God Bless you Sunny. I hope your life will find Gods love one day soon.

And I hope you'll apply some critical thought to your beliefs some day, miss thang.

save this story to the "who gives a shit" file
Posted by: Poonster on 09/11/2007 11:55 AM

Same to you Sunny. Hopefully God's love will shine thru you one day. And trust, my mind is open but nothing can knock what I already know is the Truth-and that is God. God bless you just the same.
Posted by: miss thang on 09/11/2007 12:33 PM

It sounds like your mind ain't all that open, miss thang.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/11/2007 02:06 PM

God is the truth and I hope you figure that out soon

Preach Miss Thang preach!!!
Posted by: Tasha on 09/11/2007 07:51 PM

Miss Thang I'm glad to see you've discovered religion. You always were a rather volatile poster, perhaps God is guiding you towards a gentler path.
Posted by: A reader on 09/11/2007 08:52 PM

A reader, God has always been with me...volatile poster...wow umm sorry that doesn't fit my description at all. Better yet, why not post your comments under your usual posting name instead of hiding. My opinions are just of that and I stand behind them. You are probably one of the Britney lovers who gets mad because I say all the time Brit is selfish and needs to think of her kids first instead of her career. Hopefully A Reader, you have found God too. And Tasha and Sarah, thanks for helping to defend God :-)
Posted by: miss thang on 09/12/2007 05:17 AM

I can't help notice that not one of you God defenders could respond to the point of my original comment, which was stated at 9:30 Tuesday as: "... don't you see that a clear implication of Hudson's Oscar speech was that God chose her over the other nominees? That God liked her but not those 4 bitches who were also nominated?" But oh well, at least you defended Dog, or God ... whatever.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/12/2007 11:20 AM

Sunny, it is funny how no one has reported her saying that but you. Please seek God's love so you can have some peace in your life. God blesses people lives and winning awards are blessings from God. Just thank Him that you are alive and well today.
Posted by: miss thang on 09/12/2007 12:29 PM

I guess you didn't watch the Oscars, miss thang.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/12/2007 02:05 PM

And, miss thang, a simple Google search tells you that you can find those words (as spoken by her) at the Academy Awards website and the Wikipedia entry on Jennifer Hudson. Good golly, you're a stupid religious dingbat.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/12/2007 02:09 PM

My dear Sunny, once again you are wrong. This is what JHud said "During her acceptance speech Hudson said through tears of joy, "Oh my God, I have to just take this moment in. I cannot believe this. Look what God can do. I didn't think I was going to win." "If my grandmother was here to see me now. She was my biggest inspiration." She also concluded her speech by thanking Jennifer Holliday.[6]" and that is from the wikipedia...now who's the silly one here...ha! I definite don't see what you tried to post. Please find God, He does work wonders!
Posted by: miss thang on 09/12/2007 03:30 PM

The quote was "Look what God can do." Now, HOW THE FUCK WAS I WRONG? Those are the exact words.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/12/2007 03:32 PM

So, to sum up ... I quote JH accurately. "Sunny, it is funny how no one has reported her saying that but you," said a very stupid person. But in fact JH was widely reported saying that. Then a very stupid person copies and pastes a long quote that proves exactly what I said. But somehow she thinks it proves her right. Wow.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/12/2007 03:45 PM

Sunny ole boy or girl, you infered that "Oscar speech was that God chose her over the other nominees? That God liked her but not those 4 bitches who were also nominated" but JHud was giving her props to the Almighty who deserves credit for her talent. Did nowhere did she say what you infered. And if you take her giving Props to God, then I guess all the other million actor/actress out there who gives God His props are saying the same thing. Well you know the saying when you assume...As mentioned before still you were wrong and Im out. Blessed be God onto you.
Posted by: Miss thang on 09/12/2007 04:15 PM

Miss thang, look up the word "implication." Now give yourself a smack on the forehead after realizing how stupid you are. Then hit yourself with something heavy for me. Oliver bless you.
Posted by: Sunny! on 09/12/2007 04:25 PM

Wow, I just saw this thread. Sunny, don't worry yourself with miss thang. She's so clearly wrong but doesn't realize it or can't admit it. Miss thang, I think you stumbled on exactly the problem with "giving props" to the Big Guy for an award when you wrote "And if you take her giving Props to God, then I guess all the other million actor/actress out there who gives God His props are saying the same thing." You don't see a problem with that? I do. BTW, check out Kathy Griffin reversing the whole thing by saying "Suck it, Jesus."
Posted by: Narcissus on 09/12/2007 04:45 PM

Okay, what is this whole God phobia about? For crying out loud, people say things similar to what Jennifer Hudson said all the time. She was obviously saying something that was very personal to her. If it was such a big deal as some of you are making it, why wasn't it all over the media? Besides, Hollywood, the most liberal of all liberal industries obviously hasn't rejected her as some of you had, so what's the point? And even if you don't agree with her harmless mention of God, you still know that it wasn't meant to be malicious. Gee wiz, relax. And as far as Kathy Griffin, who interestingly enough isn't as big of a star as J Hudson, her statment was indeed meant to be malicious, without question. Let's see...if she said the same thing about Allah I highly doubt you all would maintain the same attitude or perhaps you would, just to give the appearance of being objective. In anycase, can we please stay on the subject? Keep your overly sensitive discomfort with the mere mention of God to yourself. I'd like to think if you win an award it's admirable to thank anyone who you feel has been pivotal in your life. Emphasis on "thank", not attack.
Posted by: lee mitchell on 09/12/2007 09:45 PM

Thank you Lee Mitchell...that is my exact point. If she wants to give thanks to God then by all means she should just like millions of others has done so in the past and will in the future. Lee, if she gave her thanks to Allah, I would still say good for her. She has the right to stand behind her beliefs. Her giving thinks to God by no means mean that she thinks she is better than the rest. As for Sunny, inferred and implied are the same meaning, maybe you should look up the definition. And Narc, I am sure you are Sunny in disguise.

I Seen Sex in the City with Jennifer Hudson. Totally clueless casting here. She is in the movie and the soundtrack? Someone made a bad decision here. Carrie didn't need an assistant here, or they could have used an obscure actress. The over-played Hudson's character. Absolutley didn't belong. No offense to Hudson.
