Jennifer Hudson Compares American Idol to Burger King

Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson has hit back at 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell, comparing her experience the show to working at Burger King. Classic! Hudson-who was a contestant on the show in 2004-was rejected and tipped for failure by Cowell. She has the last laugh now Simon!

When she won her Oscar through her role in 'Dreamgirls', Cowell accused Hudson of failing to appreciate the "big opportunity" her appearance on the show offered her.

But Hudson snaps back, "If I'd been any better at my job when I was at Burger King in my middle teens I wouldn't be here either, so should I thank them too?"

The classy thing to do would be to thank the show that got you in the spotlight. But I guess it's more important to have the last word....

Doesn't she know that there rude remarks are only to make them better, if simon told them all how wonderful they were, who would win? he's only doing it for there own good, and i think she's being mean and childish. If burger king could get her famous then she wouldn't have gone to American idol. She should have been the bigger person with the situation not be stupid about it.

She would not have been where she is today if she had not appeared on AI. I think that comments like this just make she look very classless and big headed. I think that all of this Dreamgirls stuff has gone to her head. She really needs to thank AI for the exposure. She would have never gotten the role. I completely agree with what Simon said. She should of at lease thanked them for that!

She did say when being interviewed that AI was a steppingstone for her and that without it she never would have gotten Dreamgirls. Simon got pissed about her saying it was a steppingstone. I guess he thinks everyone should kiss AI's ass. Sorry but she didn't win and Simon seems to forget he told her she wasn't in the same class as Fantasia and the other diva whom I don't even remember her name. I think Jennifer has been as grateful as she needs to be. Without her talent she wouldn't be where she is.

After reading this I HAVE lost all interest and respect for her. She must be pretty stupid to not realize the only way she got the part on dreamgirls was because she was known after american idol. she has no class.

Seems to me Simon just can take the same kind of stuff he puts out. He has gotten more than enough mileage off of Jennifers fame and acknowledgements. He is trying desperately to cure the current disaster wit the season 6 AI contestants that he, Randy and Paula put through as the 24 finalist. Sad sad sad, get over your mantitty boobs and give the praises to Sanjaya. Let the past go. Don't hear any Simon comments about the other AI alumni?????

Jennifer, has stated repeatedly in interviews "if it wasn't for AI the director of Dreamgirls would not have known there was a JHUD"... She may have gotten a call to audition because she was on AI but she did not get the part because of AI.. It was her talent and natural acting ability that got her the part..Simon should not be mad at her "stepping stone" comment because she did not win the show. So it was a stepping stone. Yeah he may have given her good feedback on different occasions but the negative comments he made towards her from her voice, to how she dressed, and even how she looked is what sticks in her mind. For must human beings we always remember the negative comments someone says, even if they give us postitive comments at some point.

SNAP!! Jennifer I think is RIGHT on, American Idol did help her career but she isn't eternally indebted to the show. They treaded her like she was worthless. And Simon and American Idol wants way to much credit all the time.
